The State Railway of Thailand does not accept electronic vouchers and for this reason after purchasing a train ticket through Thailand Trains you will be issued with a ticket printed by the State Railway of Thailand. On purchase of your train ticket you will be given several options of how to receive your actual train ticket.

The cheapest way to collect your train ticket is to pick it up in Thailand before you travel. For journeys departing from Bangkok there is a collection point (open Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 20.00 and Saturday and Sunday from 11.00 to 19.00) 180 metres walk away from Bangkok train station. You can also book train tickets through this website for journeys starting from Surat Thani and Chiang Mai. There are ticket collection points in both Surat Thani train station and Chiang Mai train station.
Alternatively you can choose to have the tickets sent to you by post either to your home address or an address in Thailand, such as a hotel. There is an additional charge for this service. At the point of booking the charge will quoted. the amount of the charge depends on where you would like your tickets sent to.
